I love this! My son is 20 now but it’s not too late and it will be a great thing to do with grandchildren.
    In addition to this…

When I was a little girl, I remember the first thing my Dad did every day when he came home from work was go in his bedroom and empty out his pockets. All the change went into a jar. I’m not sure what happened to all of it back then – maybe it paid for college.

But on Christmas Day about 15 years ago, he brought out the big jar of coins and told my son and his cousin that they could split it. They spent the rest of the day counting and packaging the money….about $200 each. It’s been a tradition ever since. An excellent reminder of how little bits add up.
