sir ken robinson2 Video~Sir Ken Robinson~Schools Kill Creativity~Required Viewing Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson challenges the way we’re educating our children. He champions a radical rethink of our school systems, to cultivate creativity and acknowledge multiple types of intelligence. This video is from the his presentation at the Ted Conference in 2006.

Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.

Sir Ken Robinson (born Liverpool, 4 March 1950).is an internationally recognized leader in the development of innovation and human resources.

Why you should listen to him: Why don’t we get the best out of people? Sir Ken Robinson argues that it’s because we’ve been educated to become good workers, rather than creative thinkers.

  2. Mark,

Ken Robinson makes a lot of sense. My third son has no interest in working a “normal” type job and started to write screenplays. Someone is taking a serious look at one of his screenplays right now which is thrilling to my son. Robinson is saying we have to let some of our children explore possibilities out side the box. I agree. Thanks for making that video available.

  3. Phil,

That is really terrific about your son…Tough business as they say, but someone writes all the screenplays. Traditional education is becoming less and less a necessity in this “new economy.”

My son too, did not pursue the traditonal path. He always was really good with his hands and had a love for thearter. So he is now the technical director for the Arizona Theater Company. He gets to build sets, make them transportable and have a lot of fun doing it.
