Thanksgiving 2011 is just around the corner. Remember Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time to be thankful for all the blessings we have as Americans.

Everywhere you look, you may be presented with pictures of that first Thanksgiving dinner. All of those participants look so peaceful. Yet a typical Thanksgiving 2011 dinner today make invoke more stress than peacefulness.

Try these simple tips to help you eliminate the stress from your holiday dinner.

  1. Gather healthy thanksgiving dinner recipes from the Internet. Healthy Thanksgiving dinner recipes can be created just as easily as the unhealthy versions. When you make sure that the food is healthy, there is less stress over how much you are eating.
  2. Wake up early then go back to sleep. This may seem like a useless tip. However, turkeys take a long time to cook. So, go ahead and set the alarm to get up early. Put the turkey in the oven, then go back to sleep for more rest. You’ll wake refreshed and ready to begin the other things, confident that the turkey will be ready on time.
  3. Don’t be afraid to buy some things. There are plenty of Thanksgiving recipe ideas. But that doesn’t mean you have to use all of those ideas. You can only do so much. Reduce some of your stress by buying some things already made from a grocery store or a restaurant.
  4. Make as much as you can ahead of time. If you insist on making everything homemade, evaluate your dishes to find out how much you could make ahead of time. Some times would keep in the refrigerator for a day or two. Other things could be made well in advance and frozen.
  5. Find easy Thanksgiving dinner menu ideas. Don’t think you have to do everything the hard way. The Internet is full of easy Thanksgiving dinner menu ideas. Find the easiest way to provide your holiday meal.
  6. Don’t try to do everything alone. Delegate things out to others in your household. Have children help set the table. Ask a spouse to help clean up.
  7. You don’t have to invite everyone. Sure, all of your favorite television shows may have the whole family sitting around a table. This doesn’t mean you have to do that. Invite as many people as you can handle.
  8. Invite some extra friends. Take a hint from the first Thanksgiving dinner. This was a meeting of friends. It required that everyone had to be on their best behavior. If you are afraid of family issues, try inviting some outside friends. It might make everyone try to look good for the friends and eliminate any family problems.
  9. Just because you collected all those Thanksgiving recipe ideas, it doesn’t mean you are obligated to cook. There are many restaurants who will supply your holiday dinner for a very reasonable price. this can eliminate a lot of stress.
  10. Get all the help you can. Ask your guests to bring in parts of the meal. You can cook the turkey and ask them to bring in various side dishes.
  11. Don’t forget to relax. Most importantly of all. Be sure to take time to relax and enjoy your guests and family. This is what it’s all about.
